Free Advice: The Cost

By Stickysitch

Is there really no such a thing as a free lunch? We are assaulted every day on the web, with pictures of the latest "must have", gadgets and gizmos. Special screens with pop up promising us free i-pods, and gift certificates. Clicking on these links, we then learn the alternate definition of the word free.

Just fill out this "quick survey". Then you'll be rewarded. Even if you do make it through the first fifty pages of questions, eventually you get to what your free product really costs. Sure you'll get what they promise, all you have to do is buy a different item first! Is anything out there free?

There is one thing that does not cost a dime, that yes, we can still get on the net. Unique thought is free. There are sites where we can communicate with others for absolutely free. A great example of this is an anonymous free advice forum. Unlike other web sites that offer so-called free advice, a forum is different. You're not paying for an expert here. These sites let you log on and give advice or get advice by connecting with the general public. Brilliant!

We can actually cheat the system this way. Think of it like this. Do you pay a therapist to get one person's take on your problem? Do you get the opinion of hundreds online for free? It's a whole new school of thought.

free advice that can help you out of a bad situation, is pretty valuable. So, is there a cost to this free advice? to our thoughts? Don't think about it too long or we'll all realize we should be paying them! Yes, this author finds, for now, advice is just about the last thing on the web, that we can get for free.
