Wedding MC Jokes - Getting The Balance Right

By Ted Davidsen

Whoever takes on the role of Wedding MC will often be expected by the guests to inject some humour into the proceedings. Here the person taking on the responsibility wants to tip toe carefully - the task should neither cast a shadow over the Bride-to-be and Bridegroom nor the other speakers; and Wedding MC Jokes should be selected punctiliously so that no-one attending the wedding feels uncomfortable, startled or offended.

The role of Wedding MC is commonly awarded to the best man, though many marriages will have anothe friend or relative, or possibly even a pro MC in the task. Instead of being the centre of attention, the Master of Ceremonies is there to ensure the wedding reception runs smoothly.

This implies talking often, making announcements so that the marriage guests know what is happening next and where; you are also there to help straighten out any Problems on the day as they pop up. And thanks to the nature of the day the guests will expect you to make some funny remarks, one liners or yarns.

During the reception it is common for the Wedding MC to introduce each stage like the entrance of the Bride and Groom, the speakers, telegrams from absent family and friends and cutting the cake; by understanding that the wedding will be structured in a certain way you can prepare the wedding MC jokes for each stage in advance.

Most people are not naturally comic, so don't worry if this seems hard at first. Nonetheless by setting aside a little time before the wedding you can have a selection of wedding MC jokes and anecdotes that may perfectly counterpoint the day; private stories work particularly well, as long as you do not ever forget to avoid offence.

By spending a tiny bit of time before the big day learning what has happened and where, at what time and who is concerned, you are going to be able to plan out an inventory of funny comments and other humor to use on the day.

The wedding MC doesn't must be the funniest person ever heard as the guests will be relaxed and enjoying themselves anyhow. Nevertheless you've got to avoid anything that paints the content couple in a bad light and avoid mother in law jokes or anything else likely to upset his or her elders; and adult humour and bad language are definitely out as the age range attending a wedding can be from small children to great grandparents.
