Top 3 Signs Of A Bad Online Dating Site

By Michelle Palmer

It's no longer a wonder how people halfway across the world from each other end up in a happy marriage with happy kids. Technology has made this possible, and it is no longer such a surprise to hear how everything can happen so fast and easy. Back in those days when men and women searching for love across the miles had to write snail mails to each other, it took a lot of time for their next letters to arrive - not a good environment for love to blossom. Today, just some typing and clicking on a computer hooked to the Internet is all it takes for love to find its way through the distance, thanks to online dating sites.

Indeed, the technology behind online dating sites is simple, but fact remains that there are many unscrupulous elements online, and that makes these sites not completely harmless. Just as there are many legitimate dating sites out there, there are also as many dating scams perpetrated by people whose only concern is to dupe other people who come to them with sincere intentions.

1. Disorganization

A legitimate site is always carefully planned and set up. If you think that information on a particular site you've encountered is not organized and has messy-looking and non-functional webpages, there's a good chance you're better off moving on to your next option. A good site will be run by a team of professionals dedicated to keeping it nice and working properly. Anything that resembles crap in appearance and function is crap.

2. Poor Customer Service

Just as a legitimate site will always look neat and function properly, it will offer reliable customer service that allows for prompt responses and provides real solutions to problems. If you're on a dating site where you have to wait five or six days for your profile to appear, you're probably dealing with cons. If the site promises 24/7 chat services but couldn't give you a quick response to a simple question about editing your personal details, that is just another sign of a scam.

3. Few Participants

The third main indicator of a online dating site you'd like to forget is unpopularity. If you see a very low member count, you can guess there were probably more people who used to be members but have opted out upon learning about the site's true intentions, or more of those who simply knew, just by the looks of it, that the site was a scam. Remember what makes legitimate sites successful - honest and efficient service. Anything that offers less than that is something you should skip.

If you are considering finding a mate through online dating, go ahead and let the power of technology work its magic on your lovelife. It's all in your hands and all you have to do is use this power to your advantage. Love is always worth finding, even online, but do consider these top three signs to avoid wasting your time, energy and, yes, money.
