There is a need for you and your partner to share humanity with each other. You're respecting people the way you would respect yourself when you share humanity with them.

Is your partner often clumsy or forgetful, for example? Rather than lashing out at them for their fault, consider if someone lashed out at you for your fault

It wouldn't feel very good now, right? Always try to put yourself in your partner's shoes. Are they exerting enough effort to make things work? Are they also as bothered as you to attempting to look for ways to mend a broken relationship? Either way, remember that your partner is not your enemy.
