Completing Your Wedding Planning Checklist

By Adriana Noton

A complete wedding planning checklist will help you get everything done on time for your special day. With this roster, one can ensure that their marriage ceremony will appear to be well thought out and end up successful. Both parties will need to sit together and work on this list. There will be views and ideas from both sides that will need to be expressed.

A lot of people do not take the time to create this roster. They will pick a date and let everyone know the date, but not work on the actual planning until the last minute. This can cause stress and a make a bad day of what should be the most important days of their life. Six to Nine months should be enough advance time to work on the established goal set.

One of the first and important things a couple should work on is setting a date. A lot of people like to choose certain holidays such as Valentines day to get married. This is fine unless that day is nearing. In a situation like this, it is advised to wait until Valentines day of the next year to have time to make plans.

Marriage ceremonies can tend to get very expensive. This is why a budget will need to be set. It has never been said that an extreme amount of money needs to be spent in order for couples to show or express how much they love each other. Partners will need to sit and pick out items they both want and agree on and disregard any items that are not really needed. They can even get family members to help out to avoid hiring a professional staff.

Folders or binders that have pockets are recommended to keep up with all of the plans and tasks that you have in mind. This is another method that will keep your information all in one place, and keep you both on track. By the time you fill up this folder with ideas and samples, it could turn into a keepsake!

Keep in mind that while deadlines need to be set, they need to be timely ones. Set them close so that you and your mate will stay on track. This can save you time to choose ceremony venues, pick your colors, and maybe even start early shopping for bridal dresses.

Once just about all tasks have been completed, there is time to throw an engagement party or pre-celebration if you so choose. This is traditional, but not required. Keep in mind that if an engagement party is thrown, the people that are invited should also be on the list to attend the marriage ceremony.

Making a wedding planning checklist gives you a foundation to get started on your special day and keeps you on task. You and your mate will also be able to get all you desire accomplished with time to boot.
