The Wonderful Variety of Tungsten Carbide

Tungsten carbide rings and jewelry will not show flaws and will resist wear better than other types of metals.

Tungsten is ten times harder than the strongest gold, five times harder than steel and four times harder than titanium. These rings and other types of tungsten jewelry should hold its shape for your lifetime. Tungsten is a heavy metal and it will not bend. Prices vary for tungsten rings and jewelry but there are a lot of affordable pieces on the market today.

A tungsten carbide ring is pretty spectacular in that it is the only type of ring that will never need to be polished. The polish on the ring can last up to 50 years. This in itself makes a tungsten carbide ring special. A tungsten carbide ring should never dent or scratch; instead you will always have a shiny ring on your finger. You may notice when wearing a tungsten carbide ring that it feels a bit heavier than other types of rings.

A sandstone finish is a unique finish where the outer diameter ring looks as if it has a rough sandpaper effect finish however is completely smooth to touch. Many people also call this finish cross brushing. A sandstone finish will be matte and stand out, making many notice your ring.

Colored tungsten rings consist of black, gold and pink. Colored tungsten rings are plated with a zirconium coating to achieve this finish. The luster of colored rings is beautiful and both black and gold are extremely popular however the finish will not last forever.
