Significance of Money in Marriage

By Alex Shant

It is factual. Money makes the world go round. It makes a relationship go forward. Sad but true, it is the truth of it all which is why money is important in marriage. The question is that how important is money in marriage. Is it that important to make the marriage falter or be successful? The answer is yes. Actually, most marriage break ups are because of financial matters especially financial incapability of the other partner specifically the man in the relationship.

The men are the usual providers. It is for this reason that the women somehow have a default shut down in terms of money responsibilities. This is because women are supposed to be taken care of by the men by providing her with the things she needs. Men are also responsible for the children in terms of money while women nurture their kids.

This is of course the usual situation of marriage. There are however, families wherein the main provider is the women. But this set up usually has more issues because the men normally want to be the masculine in the relationship.

For this reason, if the man fails to be a better provider, the family breaks apart. Financial problems on the man side are like a dark cloud above waiting to rain, it never goes away until the air blows it. When the family lacks money to buy even the neediest commodity, the family will eventually falter and so will the marriage. The man can no longer sustain his ability to provide and that makes him a weakling. The woman will either stay with his husband or find ways to get her finances herself which will lead to the man's ego being broken.

There is a magic or a jinx in money that really dictates a person, a family and a marriage's future. Because of this, it is vital that married men and women try hard to sustain their money so as not have money issues in the future. It is important for their marriage as well as for themselves.
