Critical First Date Tips For Men Who Need Dating Assistance

By Terrance Howard

When it comes to first date tips for men, there is just a lot of bad advice out there. Most of it tends to revolve around the type of nonsense that pickup artists use to try to trick women into going out with them. These ideas rarely if ever succeed at making a good impression, and almost ever lead to a second outing with the same woman. However, there are a few things that any man can do t ensure that his initial outing with a woman is a successful one.

Before picking her up

The best dating preparation starts long before dates begin. The man should take the time to carefully plan the outing. Though women like a little spontaneous fun every now and then, they definitely prefer to be told in advance what their dates are going to entail. She will need that information to plan her attire, since she will want to make as much of an impression on the man as he wants to make on her.

Be sure to go the extra mile on grooming as well. Wear the right clothes, get a shave and a fresh haircut, and do not forget to shower. Every woman will, to some extent, judge a man on his grooming. TO make a really positive impression, be sure that the car is detailed prior to picking her up.

At her doorstep

The very first thing to do when arriving to pick her up for the evening is to compliment her on how she looks. While it may seem somewhat old-fashioned, every woman appreciates it when the man she is with acknowledges her beauty. Follow that praise up with no more than four or five additional compliments throughout the night.

The new age of chivalry

Be sure to open the door for her on that initial meeting and throughout the evening. Never assume that a woman's independence and strength means that chivalry is not appreciated. They still enjoy being made to feel special and little things like opening a door can go a long way toward impressing any woman.

Dinner etiquette

Allow her to order her own food. Sure, it looks very masculine in the movies when a man orders his companion's meal, but most women don't really appreciate that. Be sure to use the right table manners, and make sure that she doesn't pay the bill. This last point can get complicated in cases where the woman insists on splitting the costs. Nevertheless, most women will allow a man to pay if he simply tells her that the evening is his treat.

Beyond dinner

In general, movies should be avoided on initial dates, since they provide no opportunity to get to know one another. Instead, choose something that can provide some entertainment while also enabling conversation to occur. Miniature golf, a walk on the pier, or a trip to a trendy gallery can all provide a welcome diversion.

At the end of the night, the man will have to make that most pressing decision: to kiss or not to kiss. In general, there are no hard or fast rules in this area. The best advice is to simply kiss her gently if the evening has gone well, and then promise to call her the next day. Any man who has used these first date tips for men will find that she will be more than willing to take that call.
