Corporate Gifts Ideas: Practical Tips

By Allly Mason

The holidays should be fun, so do not stress yourself on thinking of what gifts to give for people at work. There are dozens of online stores out there specializing in corporate gifts Singapore. What's important is that you pick the right gift for every person, and make sure that the item will stand out.

The support staff- human resources, payroll assistants, secretaries, maintenance, etc.-is one of the most appreciative people in the company, so you shouldn't worry on selecting gifts for them. You can opt for traditional corporate Singapore gifts like tumblers, mugs, pens, calendars, planners, and the like.

Co-workers and bosses deserve to be given business gifts even if they don't expect it. They have worked with you all year round, through good times and bad. With them you may get more thorough and personal in choosing items. You may think that desk neighbors deserve special gifts. You may buy a unique item for each neighbor, and then give similar items to everybody else. In this setup however ensure discreetness in handing out the presents to avoid making people feel bad, left out or excluded.

Items that are very useful in office are very common gift choices. You can pick pens, paper weights, stationeries, planners and calendars but make sure to exert extra efforts in making them special. Figure out the recipient's favorite color, style, and design, and have the items printed or engraved with the recipient's name.

There are many customization shops today offering affordable services, but some of them can really be tacky. Be meticulous and make sure that the items look elegant and expensive, even if they are really not. Although this is the case, avoid gifts that may be considered as beyond the professional level-items that are too personal, indecent, or sexual. You may find it hilarious giving someone a piece of underwear, but other people may see it as offending. Be careful not to see your act of generosity as a kind of harrassment or personal offense. The purpose of corporate gift-giving is to make the people feel appreciated, liked, loved, or at least acknowledged. The clich speaks the truth-it is the thought, not the price, that really counts.
