The Disadvantages and Advantages of Dating a Co-worker

Dating a person that has close proximity with you is basically a good thing. This is because you can see the person all the time and thereby you can nurse your feelings without hassle because of the given proximity.

However, there is a difference between a person close to you and a person that is your co-worker. A co-worker may be very close to you in terms of career interaction but he is still distant from you in terms of emotional expression. This is because a co-worker always has some part of his life that is not known to that of the colleagues due to hunger for personal space. Staying with the same people for 8 hours can be make one feel as if he is in an emotional penitentiary.

Because of this, it is generally not good to date a co-worker. Aside from an obvious implication on the work place such inevitable rumors arising, there will always have unavoidable issues with you and the person you are dating such as jealousy on other men in the workplace and also misunderstandings related to task. Aside from this, co-workers may tend to take advantage of the weaker partner if both of them are in the same work together. Favors can be asked easily because of the emotional attachment and unavoidable compulsion to make impress the one another.

The major disadvantage of dating a co-worker is the risk of major implications if the relationship does not work. Chances are that both of you may find it hard to work together because of your past.

However, it is also advantageous to be dating with the person you are working with because it may be lighter to work with a person you like. Task at work will be fun-filled. Chances are that you can do task well because you are happy to be working with a person whom you feel fairly comfortable with. Aside from this, it is also easy to ask for outputs from a person you are dating because of the urge to satisfy the need of one another in the efforts to make the relationship work.
