Some women are hard to commit. They tell you that they do not want to be owned by someone because they do not like the idea of saying "yes" all the time. Even if it is hard to make that rigid girl become steady, your consistent genuine sweetness will persuade her to become dependent to you. At first, she may not even realize that she has been forced to share a life with you. That's part of the trick. Later, she will find herself wondering why she could not make herself leave you even if she is scared of being tied down. Make sure that you create a life around her zone where she would decide that living without you is actually more difficult than being alone. She will want you around.
So, just as you notice that you girl actually wants you around more than she doesn't. Or just as you notice that she is actually too committed to be around you even if she doesn't necessarily say it. That is when you ask the big question of asking if she wants to stay "steady". You have to ask this no matter what the consequences is.
